"Tranquility Near The Lake"
With upgrades still in the works our guest house boasts roughly 1,800 sq. ft. overlooking the South shore of Rice Lake. With 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 baths, a 6 man hot tub under the stars, in-ground salt water pool, multiple decks overlooking the water as well as 2 large decks facing a quietly wooded area and wildlife, we think you will find it to be a little piece of heaven. For more intimate or quiet time we have 2 electric fireplaces, two 55” flat screen TV’s, Wi-Fi, and Netflix to distract you if the weather is inclement. We've recently upgraded to leather couches in the living area and the Cabana is almost complete. The outdoor kitchen area is still a work in progress, but it too is well under way and nearing completion.
The guest house is equipped with a Generac (automatic generator) so you shouldn’t ever find yourself without power.
We finalized the 10' long propane fire pit and the interior of the cabana is almost complete. We are deciding where the best location will be for the horseshoe pit as well as some other neat outdoor features. We have a permanent lounge area for two hammocks to truly help you enjoy those lazy days of summer under a pergola that will soon be in bloom with flowers and climbing ivy.
I would like to think that we have some of the best sunrise/sunsets you will see anywhere, with vibrant pinks, purples and oranges, it can be a photographers dream, even if only in one’s memory.
With public access to Rice Lake, it’s just a quick walk to dip your toes into the water. A public boat launch is approximately 500 feet from the property. We have an outdoor wood fire pit as well as propane fire pit for your use, however bon fire pit requires permit, your own wood, and multiple restrictions may apply due to by-laws and weather conditions.
We are centrally located to many great local attractions/activities which happen throughout the course of the year such as the Northumberland County Forest, Treetop Trekking Ganaraska, Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Trent Severn Waterway, Warsaw Caves, Cobourg Waterfront and Warkworth Maple Syrup Festival as well as World’s Finest Chocolate Factory Outlet, and Westben Arts Festival to name a few. Your days can be filled taking in other local attractions or you can just stay here and take in the beautiful view of the water and landscape, and just relax.
Rice Lake is known for its fishing and fishing derby’s as well as Poker Runs that raise money for local charities. Fish, such as Muskie, Pickerel, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Catfish, Perch, Crappie and Bluegill are just some of what you may catch. In nearby Hastings, they were named the “2012 Ultimate Fishing Town” which is also just a short drive from the guest house. Hastings also boasts award winning Firework displays in the summer.
